    Educational Supplies

    Tuesday, August 30, 2011

I remember my first year of teaching. After graduating college and passing the teacher’s board exam, I was very lucky to get accepted in a private school. My first teaching job was with preschoolers. There were also first time teachers hired with me. When our classrooms were assigned, we were apprehensive where to start. After all, it was our first classroom. We were more concern about where to get the teachers supplies rather than the decoration of the classroom itself. It was very challenging, but it all worked out.

I wish we had Constructiveplaythings.com then. It would have been so easy to fill up my classroom with preschool supplies. There were only a few stores that sell educational supplies back home, so I ended up making things myself and improvised some of my posters. I also needed toys that my students could use during play time. Preschoolers love to play with their hands and that is how they explore. Unfortunately, the school provided some, but it was not enough for everybody.

At Constructiveplaythings.com, teachers or school officials can find educational supplies including jumbo counter toys, interactive toys that simulate real ones such as kitchen sets, and a lot more. Those who own a daycare will also find daycare supplies at a reasonable price. Plus, teachers do not have to go from stores to stores to the get their supplies. At the convenience of their home, they can get the supplies they needed minus the hassle. The supplies are even shipped to their house. What is even better is shipping is free on orders $99.00 or more. What are you waiting for? If you know someone that could really take advantage of the website Constructiveplaythings.com, please let them know. I will surely visit them again when I will be able to teach again after my maternity leave.

    Naga, Cebu

    Monday, August 29, 2011

November 1 or November 2, my family always visits Papa's friends in Naga, Cebu. They started all the way back even before we were born. Papa and Mama met them in the poultry where they both worked before they even got married. Since then they have kept in contact. One of their friends already died and they still visits the other friend almost every November. Some of their kids that were around my age already are married and some worked abroad but the friendship that ours parents have remained the same. I remember the last time I was there with them, it was so much fun. Manoy Gayfred's GF then now wife Cheryl was with us. Then nonong Tonette's girlfriend then was also with us and the rest of the family. In fact it was only Ryan who haven't been to Naga yet. I surely missed those times and I am sure it is also different for my parents too. They went to Naga last November 1st only with Ging-ging because Resty is with Aron visiting my Grandparent's grave in San Fernando. I am glad Ging-ging was able to take pictures of my favorite place. Here they are...

I can't wait to be back there soon. I am sure it will be awesome.

    Floor Mats

Ryan and I switched cars early this year because I only have a two-door car while he has a four-door car. I find it very inconvenient how I have to tilt the front seat forward just to get Frankie in the back seat. It wasn't a big of a deal when he wasn't going to school yet, but when he started going, I felt like we need to switch. It is so much easier because he has his own door in the back. I can easily grab him without even touching the front seat forward.

One of the things Ryan said when we switched is how bad the floor of my car was. I totally agree because Frankie eats his snacks in the backseat, and it has been a while since I vacuumed. I even told him that we need to buy new car floor mats because mine looked so run down. We got those floor mats from the previous owner, and I think it is time to get another one. Plus, we didn't have waterproof floor mats, so there are a lot of stains in it from Frankie's juice. It even has mud stains in it when it snowed outside. I think all two cars need new floor mats because Frankie is now starting to stain the car I am driving right now.

    Lunch Date

Ryan took the digital camera with him to take pictures of something so I was not able to take pictures of our lunch today. It was so beautiful today and the kids played in the park. I didn't even have to wear any jacket, that is how lovely it was outside. In the beginning I thought we are not going to have enough for lunch. I made some tinolang manok while Jenny made some egg rolls and when Frankie and I got there Sheila was already cooking some veggies for lunch. We had a wonderful lunch and was catching up with things. Jenny lost some weight because of her work and so as Sheila. It only shows I haven't seen Jenny for the longest time. Sheila invited us to go out after church yesterday but I was so exhausted that I said no. We took the kids to the park and enjoyed themselves playing. I even went home to get some things that I left while they both watched Frankie. They asked me if I want to come and go shopping with them tomorrow but I said no because I have things to do around the house. Besides I will be working again and I want to have a good rest.

We already started planning for the Christmas party. Nothing really big but just the 3 families but we still need to check our work schedule so that everyone could come. Sheila is so silly, she told me that she already got me a birthday present. It is nice to be remembered. Anyways, we came home with new toys for Frankie from Kyle and some of his nice shoe that he can't wear anymore. He also gave him some hat that one look so cute on Frankie. He looked like a Japanese guy from WWII. It was an early Christmas present indeed. Thanks Jenny and Sheila for a wonderful day. Sa uulitin.

    Fat Burner

I have gained 15 lbs. since the time I learned that I am pregnant. The first trimester I didn’t gain as much as I thought I will gain. It was only a couple of pounds every four weeks. I asked the doctor if it is ok, and he said I am perfectly healthy. I remember when I was pregnant with Frankie. I was gaining so much weight. It was about two pounds every week that was why I was so huge when I gave birth to Frankie.

In a short period of time, I gained so much, and before I got pregnant with this one, I am still trying to lose weight, and it has been five years already. Maybe after I give birth, I will try one of those fat burners that are in the market today. I know some of them work based on their reviews and from people who have used them. We’ll see how much I am going to weigh with this pregnancy.

    How Sweet...

...not Ryan but our neighbor Bob. He stopped by the house yesterday and to gave me a single yellow rose. He said he has been trying to call me and wanted to ask if he can stop by but you know me, I am the queen of ignoring the phone calls because of telemarketers. Bob has always been so sweet and nice to us. They were so friendly when we first moved in and has helped me every time I ask for it. Him and Mary were so concerned about me when I was pregnant with Frankie and every time I miss my mother I just visit Mary and we talk for hours. I used to take Frankie in their house when he was smaller and they both adored him but he kept going through everything now so I stopped. I love them both and I hope they will stay with us for more years to come. I placed the flower in a small glass because I couldn't find our vase.

    That First House

    Friday, August 26, 2011

Guest post of the week by Nestor Nielsen

Buying my first house was a lesson in patience but I'm really glad I held myself together and waited it out. The place I wanted was a short sale so I had to wait forever the bank to come back and tell me whether or not they'd accepted my offer and when they finally did 4 months later I was ecstatic. I moved in about a month ago and I've been really enjoying being a homeowner! There's nothing better than coming home knowing it's my own place and no one else's and I've been making a lot of improvements so far as well. I put in crown molding all over the place and recently went to HD DIRECT TV to get satellite for the whole house and I'm even considering putting surround sound speakers in every room so I can listen to my music no matter where I am. The possibilities seem endless right now and the only thing holding me back from doing everything is the size of my wallet!

    In The Blood?

Ging-ging, Nonong Tonette, Manoy Gayfed and Resty

Since I left my siblings they have been to so many places together without me. Unfair right? I guess when I was still there we were still busy trying to be where we are at right now. Working and going to school that we regret to bond as much as we wanted to. We bond at home of course but it is way different when you go out and just have fun. I am glad that even if I am not there anymore they still managed to have fun and that is what is important. My two elder brothers just love old houses, churches and history of course. We must got it from Papa who just loved history as well. Here are the old houses and churches that they have visited so far. I think all 4 of them toured Cebu in this picture while my two elder brothers have toured Bohol.

    Auto Insurance

    Wednesday, August 24, 2011

Accidents happen all the time. My friend’s husband was fortunate enough to be alright after an accident he was in. Unfortunately, the car was totaled and now they are thinking of getting another one. Considering what happened, they are still fortunate that they had an auto car insurance. I can’t imagine how bad it is going to be without it. Depending on who is at fault and how worst is the accident, both parties could lose their respected cars. If there were any casualties during the accident, someone needs to be responsible for that too. In short, having a car insurance is a must in driving.

When I was looking for a car insurance for my Dad, I was so annoyed from all the calls I got from different car insurance agents. I remember inquiring about car insurance online, and all of the sudden, I got tons of call. All I ever wanted to know was the cost of insurance. I dreaded answering the phone because of it. With AmericanCarQuotes.com, you can be assured that you will get quotes from different companies that you can compare and decide which one to go for. Plus, it is very easy to get car quotes by filling in one form to get started. Different insurance companies will then contact you either by phone, email, mail, fax, or to whatever method you wish to be contacted. The more car quotes, the more chances you will find the one quote that fits your budget. If you are an experienced driver or looking for a young adult auto insurance, you should check them out today.

    Those Were The Days

    Tuesday, August 23, 2011

We were invited to attend a wedding in one of Papa's best friend's daughter. We met them at church, and they rented jeepneys to take us to the bride's house after the wedding. It was alright going there, but on our way home, the water from the river had over flowed, and it completely covered the little bridge that they have. The house of my father's friends are on the foot of the mountain with two rivers surrounding it. The two rivers meet at the foot of the mountain going to the sea. I was so hesitant in the beginning when Papa told us that we don't have any choice but to walk into it because I was afraid to fall off the edges but my brothers told me that we are going to be ok. If we wait any longer, it might be more dangerous because the current can take us, and we will end up getting stuck there. I was holding Papa's shoes while he rushed to take us a picture. It was scary but fun and had to stop to pose.

    Work from Home

I know a lot of moms who work from home. I worked from work for almost three years while my son was still very young. It did not make any sense that I go out to work and had to pay for a babysitter. It seems like I work for nothing. At least being at home, I can take care of my son and never have to worry about his well-being while I am away. I also liked it when I can work at my own time and pace.

There are a lot of work from home businesses these days, but some of them are scams. It is hard to decipher which one is genuine which one is not. But if you want to become an Ameriplan Independent Business Owner, you can be assured that they are authentic and can help you get started and be successful with your business. Besides, you will not be on your own because Ameriplan will offer intensive training as long as you are willing to commit your time. This way, you could stay and work from home. Plus, imagine the rewards of helping those who do not have an alternative for insurance. I am sure it will not be hard to convince people about Ameriplan. With low monthly fee, one can never go wrong. The plan includes dental plan, vision, and more. This is the discount plan that everyone wants to have.

    Shopping

We got another pick a day in the mail last Tuesday. I didn't want to use it but I really would like to take advantage of the 35% off that I will be getting in softlines. Ryan wanted to come shopping with me but I don't feel comfortable with Frankie not too well yet. Since I have to work anyway, I came in early and started shopping. Ryan told me not to go beyond $200.00 and I told him it is not even close. We wanted to get Papa his very own winter coat. I know, we don't even know yet when he is coming but we wanted to get it for him so that I can take advantage of the discount. We already bought him one early this year and I thought it was a winter coat. When I looked at it again it was only a spring/fall jacket so Ryan suggested to get it during the associates day. So I went in and I really wished I had a longer time to shop around. I bought him a Sonoma coat that was originally $120.00 for 50% off. I couldn't find anything that is cheaper and thicker. I also bought him a dockers scarf and a pair of gloves. They ran out of winter hat that will match with everything I got for him. I also picked things for the people in our list. Ryan liked what I got for Papa and how much the total was. I used a Kohls Cash and the pick a day discount because the employee discount will be automatically deducted in our credit card bill. I was so happy because it didn't cost us much to get all the stuff.

Taken inside Papa's own closet in the second bedroom. We have already accumulated some clothes for him but I think he will need more. We can always go shopping once he gets here but for now the most important thing is the winter coat so that he won't freeze when we go pick him up at the airport whenever that would be.

    E Cigarettes

    Sunday, August 21, 2011

I will never understand why people smoke. I used to ask my uncle who was a change
smoker why he smoked. His answer always amazed me. I guess I will never understand why people smoke because I was never a smoker, never tried one and never will be. I have nothing against smokes, but I do not want any of them around my children. As we all know, the smoke is not only harmful to the smoker, but most of all, it is very harmful to the people around them.

However, I have so much respect for people who are trying to quit smoking, and even if unsuccessful, they find alternatives to slowly get away from smoking such as using a Electronic Cigarette. It gives them the same sensation minus the harmful effects of a cigarette. This comes to show that they are concern about their well being and the well being of the people around them. Everyone can now take advantage of an E cigarette. What I like about E Cigarettes is it comes in different flavors. They even have freshly ground coffee flavor, so if you like smoking and a coffee lover as well, you can just take advantage of that flavor too. You never have to worry about staining your teeth with using electronic cigarettes, and most of all, you can use it anytime and anywhere.

    Because She is Our Mama

If it was any other person, she would have jumped to the opportunity right away when we told her that Ryan and I would like to petition her and Papa together to live with us here in the US. But mama said No... not yet at least. Her reason? She wants to let Ging-ging our youngest (in a semi-turtleneck top not looking at the camera) graduate college first, get a job, get married or whatever comes first. It seems too long right? To think Ging-ging is still in third year college. She wants her children to be all good before she would leave them. I even asked her that since Papa, Frankie and I will be coming home for Ging-ging's graduation, I could petition her then after we come back but she said after Ging-ging is in place whether living with my Aunt and Uncle in Australia but as long as she knows that she is in good hands. I really wish I can force her but I don't want her to be unhappy here if I do. I am sure she will not be at ease while she is here with us knowing that she left the two girls behind. She is not too concern with Resty because Aron is there but not yet for Ging-ging at least. She's special isn't she? Of course she is, because she is our Mama.

    Tile Cleaning

I am so happy that Ryan and my father-in-law have agreed to get going with the renovation in our living room again. It’s been five years since we did something big around the house. We did the wood floor before in time for Frankie’s baptism, but after five years, they look so bad now. I admit they were cheap when we got them then, and we just want to get done with it at the time. At the moment, we are looking for a replacement, and we already have a prospect.

Another big project that I am excited about is the changing of the tiles on the hallway and foyer. I have been waiting for Ryan to finally do it, but he has been really busy with school and work. At least now, we will have it up now, and I am sure it will look different or even pretty afterwards. I just need to make sure to make an appointment for a tile cleaning steam Austin especially that we do not have any steam cleaner in the house. Besides, it is always nice to seek professional help such as the help from Steam Team because they always do a good job and always make sure that their costumers are satisfied with their service. Just look at the amount of people who left wonderful reviews and comments about the Steam Team through their website http://www.thesteamteam.com. I have always hated those dirty grouts in between the tiles, but with Steam Team, it will be none existent.

    Museum of Science and Industry

    photo grabbed from Wikipedia.org

I used to complain every time Ryan would take me to this Museum. I have been there so many times that I can't even count it in my fingers anymore. But this year we are planning to go back there again and check out The Christmas Around The World exhibit. That is my favorite where they have Christmas trees from different parts of the world. We have been a member since last Fall and Ryan kept asking me to go but I kept telling him later. The working coal mine is also one of my favorites while Ryan's is the German submarine U-505 that was captured during World War II besides the Omnimax. Frankie should be a little bit aware this time. So I am actually excited to go to the museum for a change.

    Cables

    Wednesday, August 17, 2011

We bought a set of entertainment center when we got the couch before Frankie's birthday last April. It is now August and Ryan still has not put together all the systems in it. He has told me so many times that he wanted to move it out there because there are a lot of compartments where he could put it in. Unfortunately during the summer, he took a couple of classes on top of his full time job and that kept him from finishing what he is supposed to do.

It is not as easy as it seems putting those systems together. He is going to need to get a few of dvi to hdmi cables to help him connect everything. I don't think he will be able to get that done in time for the birthday party this weekend, but I am pretty sure he is thinking about that.

    For Somebody

I saw Ryan sneakingly bringing this package into the house. He didn't open the garage because he was just stopping by to drop off something. I told him around lunch that Frankie and I will be picking up a prescription at Target and we actually did but came home early. So he was so surprised to see us when he opened the door. Too late for him to hide what he had in his hands. He had this coach gift bag. I smiled and he smiled at me too and I asked who was that for and he said it was for somebody. That somebody is surely very lucky. Sheila, Jenny and I didn't even bother going inside that store during Black Friday because there were a lot of people inside the coach store. I figure they must have a very good deal for that amount of people in there.

What I am trying to point out too is how they surely make it so pretty. The presentation is really awesome. Well they better be for that price and the color of the box is my favorite color too. I didn't opened it though because it was for somebody (moi). At least, I have pictures to keep. :)

    Looking for a Dentist

    Tuesday, August 16, 2011

It has been two months since my mom got here from the Philippines. Ryan and I made sure that she has everything that she needs. I have taken her to the doctor to get her medications, and now, I got her all the essentials she needs for her teeth. She has a couple of missing teeth, and she has dentures for them, but I still want to Find A Dentist for her that would check up on her regularly.

Ryan, Frankie, and I are lucky because my mother-in-law who is a dental hygienist cleans our teeth every six months for free. We really do not have a dentist , but when we have some issues, she recommends someone to us. She works out in Valparaiso, Indiana, and it is almost an hour drive from us. It is quiet a long drive if we have to take my mom there. We just want a dentist or dental hygienist that is closer to where we live to check and clean for her teeth every six months.

Thankfully, we found out about smilegeneration.com. What I like about smilegeneration.com is they just don't add dentists in their database. They make sure to connect you with a dentist that understands your time and your needs as a patient. Plus, they even have coupons that you can print to save you money on your next dental work or procedure. You don't only find a dentist, but you will find the best dentist for you and your family.

    This heat...

    Monday, August 15, 2011

…is not making me too happy. I forgot how hard it is to move around pregnant being so hot outside. When I drive the smaller car, I turn on the air conditioner because I can’t breathe. I try not to be out as much as possible, but Ryan sometimes drags me to go places with him. He always tells me that he misses me during the week that is why he wants to spend time with me going places. This is actually the first time that I am so excited for fall and winter because I want to be done with this heat.

I do not regret taking a leave from work this summer. Although I am not as mobile as I wanted to be, I am able to spend time outdoors and go places with mama, Frankie, and sometimes Dada. I think this is the best summer yet, and I am looking forward to another wonderful summer like this. I hope to get things working with my career, so I could be off during the summer months. That would be really perfect.

    Disney

You know what would be the perfect vacation? It would be spending time with the family in the beautiful Walt Disney World Resorts in Orlando, Florida. When we drove to Florida a couple of years ago, we were thinking of visiting Disney World, but we changed our minds because we only had a day to tour the place. Plus, we did not get the tickets yet or stay in one of the Orlando Resorts. It was just a spur of the moment decision that we drove down there after visiting some relatives in Florida. I am glad we did not rush, or we would have missed what the place has to offer.

It has been a couple of years, and we haven’t been back there. I don’t think it would be soon, but if we have to go for Orlando vacations in the future, we will definitely plan it well this time. Disney World in Orlando has so many fun things to do. Mom and Dad can enjoy a beautiful afternoon walk at the beautiful Disney boardwalk. The entire family can visit theme parks. Dad can play golf while mom can go on a shopping spree. Whatever the family decides, there is always something to do for everybody at the beautiful Walt Disney World. Imagine staying in one of Orlando Hotels Near Disney. You do not need to go far to enjoy what the place has to offer.

    Here...There...Everywhere

That is what I felt today. Ryan woke me up early so that we can go places before it gets really busy outside. I told him yes the night before but it was a drag getting up early today. First we went to the bank to deposit some checks. We then stopped by Mc Donalds to buy breakfast on our way to Orland Square Mall. I went to have my eyebrows done while Frankie and Ryan were waiting for me. Ryan then dropped us off to the play area where Frankie and I stayed and waited for him to come back after picking last minute gifts.

Frankie had so much fun playing that he cried when we have to put his coat on. I needed to work so we couldn't stay long. We have been wanting to go back to Red Robin for a while and that was where we had our lunch. I was a little sleepy so we stopped by Starbucks to get me some frappuccino. I wished I was already dress for work because they could have just dropped me of but I wasn't. We head home, I got ready and Dada was so nice to drop me off and pick me up from work. It was a long day indeed. I was glad it was over and I already gave my hours away. Off to Chicago tomorrow.

    Debt

    Saturday, August 6, 2011

A lot of people ruined their lives because of debt. I am fortunate enough to have a very responsible husband when it comes to our finances. I have seen how an overwhelming debt starts. It usually begins with using the credit card here and there.

Having a credit card is very convenient when you do not bring or you do not have cash all the time. It could be a little purchase here and a little purchase there, and before you know it, you have already reached your credit limit. It would not be too bad if it is only in one credit card, but if it is in several credit cards then you are in trouble. We try to pay off one credit card that we use to buy gas every month. Since we have already paid off all three of our cars, we are now saving what we could save for the rainy days. It is actually nice to be debt-free because it is less stress and less worry.

    Remembering Papa's Arrival

We left the house a little late so we thought we are going to be late in picking up Papa at the airport. When we got there the plane has just landed and passengers are coming out one by one. I was so nervous because he has to go through immigration. Although I know he's papers are all complete but I was still worried because we waited for almost an hour. Frankie was getting anxious too and wants to get off and run away. Every time a passenger comes out I hugged Ryan and whispered to him how I want to see Papa already. I had tears in my eyes while waiting.

We were standing and walking back and forth to two exits just to make sure that he hasn't gone out yet. When the waiting areas has finally cleared up, the three of us sat down. I talked to a couple of elderly Filipinas who have been in the same flight with Papa and they assured me that for first timers like him, it will take a while. I looked at exit A and he wasn't there and when I looked at exit B he was there standing looking around. I waved my hand and he saw me and waved back. I told Ryan, we got up and I ran to him and gave him a hug. I couldn't keep my composure but instead I cried. He gave me a very tight hug and told me not to cry because he is here. He gave Ryan and Frankie a hug too and immediately grabbed Frankie. He was about to cry but I kept telling him that it was Tayta (sometimes he calls him Taytay). We head to the van that was parked outside and I snapped this picture of both of them.

It's been 4 years since I last saw Papa and he hasn't seen Frankie in person. I wanted Papa to sit in the front seat but he wants to sit right next to Frankie.

Papa started showing Frankie something. It was a bug inside a key chain that looked so neat. They then ate crackers together in the back seat and Frankie started playing with him. We took the scenic route (Chicago) taking home. When we got home, I made him feel at home and comfy.

Papa started opening the gifts that he got from all of us.

We had karaoke and a duet of "I want to spend my lifetime loving you", Manang In-in and Papa version this time. We had lunch and Papa took a nap. Dad and Noelle came to see him but he was asleep. We went out for a nice dinner and went shopping for some of his needs. I thank Him up there for making everything possible. It was nice for my family back home to see all 3 of us together. They are all so happy.

    Marketing

    Thursday, August 4, 2011

When Ryan and I were looking for a real estate agent to help us with our house search, we went straight with a popular real estate company at our place. His website was so blah. I know that we are looking for a house, but he could have at least added beautiful places or views of the cities that he is servicing especially in the main page to catch the prospective buyer’s attention. We ended up using him anyway because we did not have any choice at the moment.

Using the internet to boost a real estate business is the right way to go. In the United States alone as of 2010, there are 239,893,600 internet users according to Internet World Stats. Imagine how many prospective buyers could be lurking in your website, so it is about right to seek help from professionals that could help you make your website be known out there in the World Wide Web. One good example is with the real estate agent Alex Heyen. He needed the help of Realgreeks for his idx websites and was very pleased with the result. The same thing could also happen to you and your business.

Alex Heyen also has a website that will help you search for Omaha Real Estate, foreclosures, and more. He will also help you if you are looking into selling your home or buying a new home. If in Omaha is where you want to reside next, let the expert do the rest.

    Museum of Science and Industry

    On our way to Chicago.

We surely did start the New Year right and that was going places. Yes, we spent the first day of the year at the Museum of Science and Industry and we had a blast including me. Normally I hate going to that museum and I have expressed my dislike about it in my blog over and over again. It is just that museum in particular because I have been there for so many times. Since we haven't been there since Frankie was born almost 2 years ago, I was actually excited when Ryan asked me and Papa if we wanted to go. It was their first time too. I was hesitant to go to the Museum on a New Year because there might be a lot of people but we left the house really early that when we got there, there was hardly anybody. We were able to take pictures. Ryan and I were surprised to see the amount of new exhibits they have there and still building for more. There used to be a big space by the member's lounge before but now that too has exhibits in it. We only covered half of the Museum and we will go back there this spring or summer again to explore the rest of the place. Papa and Frankie surely had fun and we did too.

    Apartments for Rent in Calgary

You can visit http://www.rentcalgary.com/ if you thinking of moving or visiting Calgary in the near future and still do not know where to stay? This website offers a wealth of information regarding houses, townhouses, apartments to reside while in Calgary. What I like about the them is it is very detailed, and it includes information regarding the house even telephone numbers of people to contact with.

It is very important to deal with people that are authentic and knows how to deal with the business. My cousin and her husband dealt with someone over the internet for a house that they were going to stay. They made a deposit, but when they got to the place, they could not find the person that they dealt with. They were out $200.00 which is of course a lot of money.

With the mentioned website above, you know that you will be dealing with people that know about Calgary Apartments for Rent, and you are going to be dealing with them directly. Plus, home or property owners can also list their properties in the website. So, the next time you think about moving or staying to Calgary, do not worry because finding your next home will be easy.

    Welcome Party

We had a lovely Sunday. Ryan's relatives that consists of Dad, Noelle, Ken, Vicky, the kids and my friend Sheila welcome Papa here in the US. We had lunch together in our house. Noelle brought a lot of food, Papa made menudo, Ryan baked the Turkey and made a pumpkin pie and I also did some of the desserts. The house was so lively because of the three kids playing especially when Frankie and Ben were playing with the magic sing microphone that Sheila brought to our place. Papa was so happy to see Dad again. It has been 7 years since they last seen each other. They stayed in the kitchen for a little bit and enjoyed a conversation about construction and fixing things up.When we had the table ready we managed to squeeze in 11 people in that small table. I was only able to take 1 picture when we were eating because I was so busy eating. Over all we had a wonderful time and Papa did too when I asked him. I would like to thank Ken, Vicky, Ben-ben and Maddie for coming over and help us welcome Papa and also to Dad and Noelle for helping us make this happen. Thank you very much. I am so happy to see Papa very happy and he too is very very thankful for the warm welcome he received. I wish mama was here but her time will also come soon.

    Scrubs for Men

Last Halloween, I borrowed a pair of scrubs from a good friend. I still have not returned it to her yet because I kept forgetting that I still have it with me. It is way bigger to her, and she does not need it for work. Frankie and I were both nurses last Halloween. He had a Halloween party and parents were encouraged to dress up for Halloween too.

Frankie looked so cute in this Halloween outfit. I would love to see him grow up to be a nurse. More and more men these days are going into the nursing profession. Men nurses do not have to worry regarding their scrubs because they can now get it online at http://www.blueskyscrubs.com/categories/Scrubs/Scrubs-for-Men/ . They have a wide range of selection including different colors and sizes for men.

Blueskyscrubs.com also offers nursing scrubs on sale for people in the medical field. They also have accessories, jackets, scrub hats, and a lot more. I will be telling my nurse friends about this website the next time I see them. Worrying about where to get your next scrubs is now a thing in the past.

    Chicago Dough Company

On our way out to have lunch. The van was covered with snow so Papa was trying to clean it up with his gloves. Frankie trying to help him in the picture below.

Last Wednesday we all decided to go out and have pizza buffet. I hate pizzas and Ryan knows that but I always go with him because at Chicago Dough Company they always have the salad and the yummy chicken wings in their pizza buffet. Most of the time I don't eat that much pizza. Just a couple slices but it is the chicken wings that I can probably have more than 10 pieces and a bowl of their salad. When we arrived at Chicago Dough Company there were quiet a few people. Papa had some slices of pizza but didn't like it as much. I couldn't agree more. I never liked their sauce here. Our pizza in Cebu is a lot better than their pizza here. He ate mostly salads than the pizza. After lunch Ryan picked up a couple of stuff that we need from the store while all three of us waited in the car. We didn't do much the rest of the day. Frankie and I took a nap while Papa and Ryan watched a movie in the living room.

    Hawaii

Hawaii is a very beautiful place. Although I have not been there, I have seen pictures of it in the internet and it looked very inviting. I grew up 2 miles away from the beach, and seeing the pictures alone of the beach, and of course, the sunny weather makes me want to move there in a heartbeat. Even a vacation right now in the beautiful Hawaii will be just enough to me.

It may seem intimidating to move to a beautiful place such as Hawaii especially when you do not know anyone over there. Plus, it is harder when you have a property elsewhere because you could not be in the same place at the same time. Before the internet, it would have been so hard to find current and existing Hawaii real estate. But because of it, finding for real estate for sale is within reach.

When you check out the facebook page of Hawaii Realty International right now, you will find different homes in Hawaii and even in Myrtle Beach. This gives you an idea of where to move, and what they have to offer. Plus, you do not need to leave your home to check out these helpful information. Now moving to Hawaii is within your reach.

Remembering My First Christmas Party at Work

A very very late entry but I thought of sharing it anyway. My relatives like reading my updates here. Anyways, we had a very very late Christmas party and I have some pictures to share. It was an alright party although I still miss the "biboness" when we have our Christmas party back home. There were a lot of food and gifts to give away but it was still different. We were all just sitting there talking but it was really nice to be able to introduce my family to my co-workers and vice versa. Frankie was the life of the party. I didn't know that some parents are not going to take their kids with them so it ended up only having 2 kids in the party. I really wanted Papa to join the party that was why Frankie was able to tag along. He just loved playing the piano and my co-workers kept cheering him on. Sharon showed him some notes and he was eagerly listening to her.

When we were getting ready to eat he just won't settle down. He kept going back to the piano. Ryan and I are not like those parents who just sit there while their kids are running around. We just don't want him to be a hassle to anybody there. We didn't have any choice but after Ryan had his dinner they went home ahead of us. Thankfully we took separate cars so all he did was transfer the car seat and they were both off. Ryan said he still want to talk to my co-workers because we really enjoyed the conversation and I told him since it was my party so he has to go and he left. I brought him some desserts home though because he wasn't able to have some. We went home at 10:00 p.m. and I won a fleece blanket which is perfect for Papa.

    E Cigarette

    Wednesday, August 3, 2011

My body does not respond well with cigarette smoke. Before I got pregnant, I cough and sometimes puke when I am surrounded with excessive cigarette smoke. Now that I am, I get dizzy and had to walk away from whoever is smoking or else I will faint. The cigarette smoke does something to me that makes me unable to breathe that is why I am very thankful to whoever invented/created the e cigarette.

It used to annoy me every time I go to a store and see smokers on the side of the entrance door smoking. Although they are not close to the door, I can still smell the cigarette smoke. Today, however, was different. I saw a couple of people smoking, but they were using the e cigarettes. I heard that it taste the same and safe to the person smoking, and of course to the people around them. I hope more and more people will use e cigarettes, so I don’t have to feel miserable around them.

    Classmates

    Tuesday, August 2, 2011

Ryan and I took Business classes together at Prairie State College. Our previous employer sent us to school so I thought, why not. It was pretty neat actually seating and competing right next to your husband. It was also nice not having to buy different books also because we get to share everything. We always have an exam every time we meet at the end of the discussion and it always makes me jealous how Ryan would read the book while the professor is discussing and he always get higher grades than I do. I study at home and I still forget sometimes. He has what others call as a “photographic memory” because he remembers every single detail that he read from the book. At the end we had the same grade although I have almost tripled the effort.

Ryan and I were also given the chance to create our own business proposal and present it to class. We really had a wonderful time putting it together especially the catchy leaflets that we were giving out. As our professor said, it is very important for a new or existing business to use a strategy to make their products or services known to the public and one is by using promotional products. In our case we sent our invitations for a free sampling event with a small bag that looks like the one on the left with the name of our store printed. We were proposing to open our new Filipino restaurant. It was so much fun and I really had a wonderful time going to school with my husband.

    Plus Size

I worked retail for six years. I was a supervisor over ready to wear or the women's section at one time. It was amazing how much merchandise the women’s department had while the plus size section had very little. It was almost as small as the maternity section or the petite section. Unfortunately, because the size was very small, the selection also was very limited. I had costumers asking me before if we still have merchandise in the back. It is sad that I had to ask them to go to another store because we do not have what they were looking for.

When I go to a store, I expect them to have what I am looking for. I find it very annoying to get there and end up leaving the store empty handed because they do not have what I came for. What a waste of time and gas, so the next time my mom needs a new pair of plus size jeans, I am going to buy it online for her.

At Roamans.com, they have a wide selection of plus size clothing. They carry plus size denims, dresses, swim wear, shoes, lingerie, and a lot more. With a click of a button, you can easily get that dress that you want to get or take advantage of their clearance merchandise. With Roamans.com, you will always have your size or you will know upfront.
