    Pops on the Move

    Thursday, June 30, 2011

Papa did a good job in Frankie's room and the bathroom. He started doing it last Monday and that day we also moved the two beds making them roommates for now until Saturday. We had all the molding stained and all it needs to be done is to cut them and put them up. Dad was so nice to let him use his nail gun and that made it easier for Papa. He showed it to him when he was here one time and he learned how to use it right away. Papa attempted to use his hammer to nail the molding but because the wood is so thick the nail won't penetrate to the wall. He also doesn't have any workstation to cut the molding so he improvised something and that is by using Frankie's yellow chair. Good thing we didn't throw it out, as I have been wanting to put it away.

Anyways, the last time we were in Menards we were looking around different floor tiles that they have. They didn't have that much selection. It will be for the hallway towards the main door. Hopefully Ryan and I can figure out something that he can do after the putting up with the molding. He didn't finish it all the way last Monday because since they have been roommates he hasn't been getting enough rest because of Frankie. Hopefully by Saturday it will change. It looks really nice on there now. Papa just needs to patch the nail holes with the same color as the stained wood so that it will look good. We will be showing his work to Sheila's husband so that he can decide and start working on their house every weekend. That will surely keep him busy.

    Online Shopping at Its Best

I am so excited when I learned about become.com just today. I do most of my shopping online because I do not have much time to window shop when I was in school and working full time at the same time. When I needed things for Frankie, I buy it in an online store to save time. Now that I am off school, I am also three months pregnant and was advised by the doctor for a complete bed rest. I really do not have any choice for now but to buy stuff online.

Frankie is about to start T-Ball next month, and he will need a new pair of Nike baseball cleats. This is Frankie’s first time, and we all are very excited for him. Thankfully, I found a very affordable pair of cleats at become.com. Just look this Nike kids baseball cleats below. It will be perfect for Frankie. What is even better is it is only $25.00. You can never go wrong with that price.

I first thought that Become.com is only limited to household needs, but I was wrong. They definitely carry a wide selection of products. They have just about anything that you can think of. I am even impressed that they have sports essentials such as football cleats and even affordable lacrosse sticks. Shopping at become.com is very easy because all you need to do is go through the different categories to narrow your search. Become.com will be perfect in getting the baby essentials/products for my second child too.

Online shopping is awesome, don’t you think? Especially when you get good deals in selected items. Become.com is becoming popular and popular, and I can’t wait to tell my friends about it.

    Ging-ging's Orchids

When Papa, Mama and Ging-ging went to Naga to visit Papa’s old friends, Ging-ging was just so fascinated with the orchids that they have. It was so beautiful and so many that she asked Nong Gioso if she can bring home a branch. I have never been an expert with orchids but I know mama used to have some in our old house. It is not easy to have them grow but the prize has always been beautiful. So to cut the long story short, Ging-ging now has orchids in our house that she is so proud of them. She was the one who planted them, took care of it and it is now blooming beautifully. Aren’t they gorgeous?

My special boat ride for my birthday

    Sunday, June 26, 2011

Guest post written by Paula Minton.

My boyfriend just really amazes me sometimes. He'll be so low key and then do something extremely romantic that I would have never expected. My birthday was a few weeks ago and he really surprised me and took me for this amazing boat ride!

I thought that he was just going to get something special. So I went online and dropped a few hints, or links, to let him know what I would like to get for my birthday. While I was doing that I saw the site CLEARwirelessinternet.com and after I read through it I decided to sign up for one of the packages I found on there for my apartment's internet service.

He took me on a special boat ride through the lake in the park and took me to a little picnic complete with my favorite kind of cake. He really outdid himself and I have no clue what he will do next year for my birthday because I don't know what could top that. Well there might be a few things, though!

    Missouri, Galena or Wisconsin?

Ryan and I were driving to Indiana to pick up something when he asked me if there is a place he wanted us to go for our anniversary. I didn't really care where. He was thinking of Branson, Missouri, Galena or Wisconsin Dells. Branson, Missouri is about 8 hours drive from here and I really didn't want to spend that much time on the road. Galena I heard is really pretty but it is more of a romantic get away but since we are taking Frankie and Papa with us, I chose Wisconsin Dells.

Yes our initial plan was to go somewhere by ourselves but it was Ryan who wants to take Papa and Frankie. I didn't ask him if we can take them because I know that he has been looking forward to this one but Ryan suggested that we should take them. After all it is going to be for 3 days. I was so happy because I don't think I will truly enjoy without Frankie with us. We also agreed that it wouldn't be that bad if we want to do something romantic since Papa and Frankie can go swimming or do something. I am so looking forward to this. We have been there in 2004 for our first anniversary and it has been a while. Ryan already ordered the travel guide to see if there are other things we can do over there. The last time we were there, we went to a casino, watched a magic show, checked out different museums and went miniature golfing. I hope it won't be that cold this time like the last time. I am actually so excited. It would also be a nice experience for Papa. I can't thank Ryan enough for loving my Papa like his very own.

    It Is Time

    Friday, June 24, 2011

I am currently pregnant with our second child. We are all very happy and excited since we planned this for so many years. We wanted to wait before Frankie is big enough to understand what is going on. It is also nice that he is able to help, and he will be able to savor his time with his little brother or sister. That is one of the things I really liked that my siblings and I were so far apart. It made us remember all the very little details when we were growing up with a little brother or sister. The chance of being able to be there for them was awesome. That surely explains why we are very close to each other.

In that connection, I have repeatedly asked Ryan that this is the perfect time to get my own life insurance. We did look around for a little bit before, but it slipped his mind when Frankie and I went to the Philippines for a three week vacation. Now that we are back, the search will resume again. I want to learn about the steps in lowering the premium. This will be perfect if we find one. And also, with that information in mind, I will be able to equip myself to better decide which insurance company to go for and what to look out.

Every family should have an insurance plan. It will serve as an assurance in case something happens. It makes me happy to know that my husband got one. I can set aside my worries and take care of the things that needed my attention the most. Now, if we can get going with the search and be done with it. I will probably tell him about Advantagetermlife.com.

To Chuck E Cheese's We Went

Saying hi to mama and dada.

Last Saturday we took Frankie and Papa to Chuck E. Cheese to get out of the house for a little bit. It has been a while since we did something fun together. We wanted Frankie to have fun too but it seems like it was Ryan and Papa who practically had a good time. When we got there Frankie was so fascinated with all stuff to play in there. He wanted to run around immediately just like other big kids but still need to order our pizza and sit us in our table. After having done that, Ryan let Frankie ride in one of the trucks that was right next to our table. He was fine in the beginning because Ryan has not put a coin in to get it running but as soon as he did that and the truck started moving, Frankie was ready to get out and he was crying. We were all laughing because he likes it more not moving. I told Ryan that we don't have to waste the coins if that is the case.

We took turns in taking Frankie to the different rides while waiting for our pizza. Ryan had the coins with him. Frankie doesn't stay put in one place and won't finish one ride that is why I just let him sit on it then after a few minutes he is done and move on with the next ride. There were a lot of people because there were 3 parties at the same time. That is why we didn't let Frankie roam around by himself like other parents do. He was still too little but even if he wasn't, I don't think Ryan will let him be by himself. All in all we have fun or shall I say Ryan and Papa had so much fun.

That afternoon we went to Red Robins for dinner. Good thing we left the house early because I still had the time to come home and get ready for work. I don't know what we are going to do on Saturday because I am off. Maybe watch a movie or something but Ryan already told me that he will be working over time.

    Father's Day Gift

    Tuesday, June 21, 2011

What did you get your dad/husband for father’s day? Although Ryan kept insisting that he does not need anything, I decided to get him one of the Nikon binoculars in the market today. It was indeed a surprise, and he really loved it. What I got for him was indeed perfect for zooming. He will be able to test it this weekend since we will be visiting a friend in Wisconsin. They have a farm in the country side, and they have been inviting us to come along. We have been blowing them off, but since mama is here, I could not say no anymore. It will be fun!

    Girls

It has been a while since I last spent time with the girls. Jenny comes here 3 times a week to check on the entertainment center that she asked Papa to do. It is done but it will need additional touches. It looked really nice before the black paint but with the cold weather, the paint was not giving papa a smooth finish. Jenny is ok about it anyway because he can retouch it next summer.

I can't believe how busy we are with school, family and our careers. Sheila is studying taxation while Jenny is finishing her pre-requisite to get into the nursing program. She has applied already but there are a lot of people waiting, so I really hope she get in. She is very smart anyways. I can't wait on our birthdays. We are planning to celebrate it together, a little after our finals. I know it is a little while but with how busy we are, it will get here before we know it. It is also a way of rewarding ourselves for a job well done. I can't wait!

    Visiting Websites

    Sunday, June 19, 2011

I can’t believe how helpful it is to have a computer while doing some school work. It makes researching through the help of the internet so much better. Back in college, researching was so limited with library books and magazines. Now, there is wealth of information online as long you know where to find them. I remember researching for my paper in Astronomy class when I came across a website. It didn’t look authentic, but before I could leave the site, I was already affected with a virus.

The virus damaged my computer, and I lost everything. I was so sad when I couldn’t retrieve my draft for my paper anymore. I needed seven pages, and I was on my 4th page when it happened. My husband had to reformat the computer and bought one of the top antivirus in the market to make sure this will never happened again.

I learned to be very careful with what websites to check, but sometimes it is very hard to tell which one is safe and which one is not. The website I thought looked ok was the one who gave my computer a virus. Maybe, I need to start looking at .gov, or .edu websites from now on especially when it is for school.

    Productive Ryan

After coming home from the bank this morning, Ryan has been working on our bedroom and the second bedroom. He has been cleaning, vacuuming and moving stuff around. He gathered all of Frankie's books because we have a place to put them now. Frankie is currently sleeping on his bed in this bedroom with George. It is so much better when he is not around because he is always in the way and when we put him out in the living room, he kept calling for his Dada and he wants to be where he is at.

In fact they are going to wait until he gets up to move Papa's bed to the second bedroom. He finally have this own room, his own closet and his own TV. Since the computer is there, he can also watch his favorite Philippine news which is the TV Patrol or talk with them back home. I still need to teach him how to go about it but so far he knows where to go when he wants to watch his favorite show. I can't wait to transfer Frankie's toys to his room. It should look at lot better in the living room with all his toys in his room. I will take pictures again for my family back home to see with Papa's new room.

    Houston Truck Accident Attorney

    Friday, June 17, 2011

I took my mom to get her medications at a local store where I used to work, and I was so happy to see my old co-worker who was out for so many months after being hit by a drunk truck driver. She was out of work for six months, and when she got back to work, she got demoted from her supervisory position.

It was really hard for her since she has to pay for all the bills she incurred while under therapy. She has not heard anything from the drunk driver that stuck her and her car. I am sure if it happened in Texas, I am sure the Houston Truck Accident Attorney will not let him get away without getting anything from him. I hope my friend is finally feeling better. It surely was nice to see her today.

    Robbed

I talked to Ging-ging about two days ago and she told me our Uncle (Papa's older brother) in Talisay was robbed around 4:00 p.m. Since my Aunt died of cancer over a year ago, he has been living there my himself. He leaves the house everyday early morning to jog. Papa and him would sometimes meet at a spot then they go jogging together. He is in his mid-70s and still very active. He sometimes has to leave the house to get stuff that he needs as well as to buy the medications that he has been taking.

Well last week, he was wondering why there was this kid and another guy always passing by his house. He noticed them because they kept on passing back and forth in his frontyard. He didn't give much attention. He left that afternoon to do some errands and when he came back, the house has been robbed. The screen has been cut and the window wide open. When he came in his money is gone and other things. Luckily his digital camera that was placed right next to his money was covered with a shirt the reason why they didn't see it. How sad but atleast my Uncle is safe.
