    Remodel

    Wednesday, August 25, 2010

My Dad spent a few days in my friend’s house. They were remodeling their bedroom and the kitchen, and they hired Papa to do the molding and the painting. Fortunately, my friend Jenny did not have school yet, so she was able to watch Frankie while Papa was doing the project.

When we went to have dinner at their house last Sunday, I couldn’t believe how beautiful the result is. Their bedroom looks like a hotel while the kitchen is getting there. They just need to get new appliances. Jenny had been shopping around for good deals, but doesn’t have any luck yet. I may have to tell her about aj madison coupons that she could use to get a discount for appliances. I am sure she will appreciate it because every little thing helps.

    Foreclosure

I was reading the paper this morning, and I am amazed of how many houses are foreclosed. I really thought that the economy is picking up, I guess not yet. In our neighborhood alone, there are four houses that are for sale and a couple that are foreclosed in the past two months. For those who have the money, this time is the perfect time to buy houses at their lowest. In fact, if you are looking for a place where you could spend your vacation, there are also Outer Banks foreclosures that are open to the public. I sure wish I have the money because an opportunity like this is hard to come by.

    Lie To Me

    Tuesday, August 17, 2010

I really like the show Lie to Me that stars film actor Tim Roth. Roth nails the character of Cal Lightman who is a scientist in the art of detecting deception through body language and micro movements of the facial muscles. The science is actually real and in use by law enforcement and the military when interrogating suspects of criminal activity. Major news programs also employ emotion experts who “read” the body language of people who are in the news for something sensational.

Of course, the show is loosely based on the science but Tim Roth's character makes up for any areas where the science crumbles in the plot line. With Lightman being rich and broke by making huge amounts of money but having huge expenses and also being a gambler in recovery, the show is all the more intriguing. Add to the mix an ex-wife played by Jennifer Beals and a teenage daughter, as well as the fact he is secretly in love with his firm's co-owner Dr. Jillian Foster, and the show has got the right stuff to keep a viewer interested.

Even the theme song is cool. It is “Brand New Day” by Ryan Star. This show has elements that can last and be built upon to keep it interesting for many seasons. I don't miss an episode since I record it on my DVR if I can't watch it when it airs on my direct tv programming packages.

Thanks to Herman Barry for this post.

    Get Together

I requested my day off today. I need to see my gynecologist again for that yearly check-up. I am sure he will ask me again on when are we going to have another baby and this time I have a definite answer to give him. Anyways, I am at home with Frankie while Papa is in Ate Jenny house today. She wants their bedroom painted and add some molding. We were there last night for Papa to get the measurement. I did not stay long because Ryan wants us to watch a movie and dine out, but after dining out, we missed the movie. We ended up coming home and I called Papa if they were still at Jenny's house. They were at Menards and Frankie was left with Adam and Kyle.

Frankie was so happy to see Kyle again. Since they got back from their vacation from the Philippines, then to Virgin Island, then camping at Wisconsin, they have not seen and played since yesterday. Frankie and Kyle was so happy playing at the park. It seems like they haven't seen each other in a long time. Jenny and I will be going back to school on Monday and we are going to have a little get together in her house. We know that it is going to be a while when we will be able to do something again since we are definitely going to be busy with school and work. Ryan was soooo nice to let me give away my hours on Saturday, so I could be with my friends. He will be coming along with the get together too. I can't wait to go to the Filipino store to get something that we could bring. I am very excited!

    Bullion

    Saturday, August 14, 2010

When you go to a jewelry store, gold and silver jewelries are the most you will find. They are also very expensive especially when they are pure. Owning gold coins or silver from a bullion is a good investment in the future. You might be wondering where to find them? The United States Gold Bureau is the place where you can purchase silver, gold or other precious metals for safe keeping or investment. Plus, if you are new to investing, the United States Gold Bureau has dedicated professionals who are willing to help you with your buying needs. With the tough economy we have these days, it is best to invest your money to something that will gain you more in the future.

    Finally Over

    Friday, August 13, 2010

I have been looking forward for this weekend. It has been a long week for me because of the inventory. I did not want to do the count this year. I had it last year on the sales floor, and it was horrible. Thankfully, it was two days this time and I was scheduled for the first day in the stock room. I still have the school schedule, so they were not able to schedule me early for the second day of inventory. It was a lot of mess though, but I didn't mind cleaning after them because I did not want to wake up really early for the second day.

On a lighter note, I got my schedule approved for school from work, so it will be a little rough for Mondays and Wednesdays because it will be late night for me. I also talked to my two associates because they are the ones who will be greatly affected with my schedule change. They don't seem to care and just thankful that they are able to help. I love them both. They are just amazing, and I know that I always got my back with them.

    Sofa

    Wednesday, August 11, 2010

Most of the things you see in our house are hand me downs from relatives and friends. I guess when you are newly weds and trying to settle down, you will appreciate whatever you can get. The couch that we got from my friend has been very beat up that it needs a new one. Frankie ripped the cover and there are big holes in most of the cushions now. He also likes eating there sometimes. I vacuum them most of the time, but it is so hard to get the stains off of it. Ryan said that we need to get new ones before Frankie’s birthday. Maybe modern sofas perhaps that would compliment the living room. Now we have to start saving.

    Out in the Country

    Tuesday, August 10, 2010

Ryan and I have decided that we are going to move out and live in the country after this house. Ryan grew up living out in the country while I lived near the city in the Philippines, but my heart had always loved country living. A couple of times, there were places that we wanted to buy, but when we made a bid for the piece of land that we wanted to get, someone outbid us. We liked where it was located though. The houses and the garages are separated. Out in the country, there are more and more houses these days instead of farm houses, and most houses are steel building and made to last. I would love to move out of this place right now, but I guess it just have to wait.

    School or Work

    Monday, August 9, 2010

The summer classes I took made me realize how tough it was to be doing school and work under a very tight schedule and under so much pressure. Although I enjoyed going to school so much, I don't want to do it again. It was very challenging, and I am glad all my hard work paid off. I just recently submitted my change of schedule for work. I don't know if they will be ok with it since I have basically four days in school and again there are nights where I would leave at 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. If they value my hard work, I do not see any issue with it since I have two awesome members in the department, but if they will have an issue with my availability then that would be time that I will have to leave and concentrate in school. Thy will be done!

    Justin Timberlake on American Idol?

    Wednesday, August 4, 2010

    Authored by Jessie Carlton

By now Justin Timberlake’s people have denied that he’ll be a judge on “American Idol” and shattered my dreams.

I’ve been a JT fan since the early days of *NYSNC and have followed his solo career since then. I simply can’t enough of him and probably got my hopes up a little too much about he possibly judging the singing reality competition.

I’m a big fan of music in and of itself, but have never really watched “American Idol” faithfully because I can’t stand Simon. I’ll admit that I did watch it some this season because I think Ellen Degeneres is hilarious but I couldn’t name all of the finalists, or anything like that.

I’m hoping that Justin Timberlake will do a little more acting. I like to keep up with his current projects through wild blue internet so I’ll know what to look forward to.

I have a feeling he’s not going to stop writing songs like “Carry Out” any time soon and I’m fine with that. I want to be a senior citizen listening to the same kind of JT songs. If anyone can pull that off I know it’s him.

    Astro Paper

    Monday, August 2, 2010

One of the things I really hate doing is when I have to write a paper for a class especially if it is not an English class. My co-worker has already warned me about Astro that we have to come up with a paper with any topic of our choosing within the scope of Astronomy. I felt like I had the perfect topic in mind, but I did not know where to start. I asked Jennifer how she did hers, and I even asked for a sample but she couldn't find it anymore. I was running out of time that I decided that I have to write it the night before deadline in school. I was in the school library cramming with two other classmates. I started with so much topic then I had to condense them and I need to start writing. After 4 hours, I was so happy to finally come up with something. Jenny kept telling me that it is going to be ok. She did hers the night before and she got a 90 for it. I was hoping to get something good for it, so I could keep my A. I still don't know how much my score would be with my finals.

Last week, he told us that we can email him, and he will let us know how much we got. I emailed him asking about my paper but not so interested about how much I got for my finals. It was really hard and I was disappointed because I studied the day before. Thankfully, he got back to me and told me that I got 97 in my paper and a B in my finals and since I got A's in the rest of the quizes and test, I was able to maintain my grade. So, I ended up with 92 an A in his class. Below is the break down of my paper. Ryan said sometimes I underestimate myself too much, and I surely do agree with him.
