I was in the mall and in one of the store over the weekend shopping for a dress or a top that I could wear for our holiday party this Sunday. Unfortunately, I went from store to store and nothing was there that I like. I have gained weight and although I look skinny in the arms and legs but my stomach has not shrink yet from the time I gave birth to Frankie. As I was walking in the mall, I noticed how some of the store had pop displays that were very cute. In the middle of the aisles they also have cell phones stores and accessories that had counter top displays too. I think they speak so much about the business.
Blog for English 102
I was so excited when my teacher mentioned others way to get credit. I really need every credit I can get to get at least not a C in her class. There were two and one of them is by creating a blog and posting 1 each week for 12 weeks. My eyes grew big with excitement, but I have to carefully plan what I write. I also have the option to give the links to my classmate. I am not sure if I will do that. It might be very embarassing. In our blog entry, we need to make an assertion or arguement and support why we thought of it the same way. We also need to email our teacher and let her know about our topic, so it won't be a surprise for her. I am a little excited and of course a lot of work.

Lifts and Weights
Saturday, January 16, 2010
My father had always been very fit and healthy. When he was younger, I remember him working out all the time. He used to use me as his weights lifting me up and down when I was six years old. Those were some fond memories I had with Papa when I was younger. When he left for Libya, he kept sending us pictures of the different places he had visited and even then I could tell that he was maintaining his stretches because he looked fit and that was without the help of hgh pills. Even now that he is sixty, he still manages to walk and lift the dumbbells daily. I wish I had that motivation.

Fine Lines
Who wants to look old? I surely don’t want to look old. If we could only grow old gracefully, then it would be great. Unfortunately, no matter how much we want to look young, we will all grow old, but as long as we know how we handle ourselves then it shouldn’t be a problem most especially if we are using antiaging products to help give us that youthful look. I don’t mind getting old because it means I had been through a lot in life, and as long as the years doesn’t show on my face through the lines then I am good.

Weekend Off
Friday, January 15, 2010
I am so excited for the weekend. I won't be doing so much but at least I get to relax one last time before school starts. I won't be having much of a relaxing soon by then. Ryan and I will be taking Frankie to CC again. We went to Tinley Park last Saturday after I got off work but when we got there, the place was packed. I didn't want to let Frankie run around with a bunch of grown up kids, so we ended going home. Frankie was so mad that he started crying. He kept pointing on CC. We had to tell him that we need to head home because Tatay was crying. We felt really bad for him because he was all excited that we ended up getting him something. When we got home, he immediately hugged Papa and asked him if he was crying. Ryan and I had to laugh because that was the one thing that made him stop crying when we told him that his Tatay misses him. Dada just called me, so we will be taking him tomorrow. I am sure he will have a blast.

Proactiv
I had heard different positive feed backs about proactiv. That was why I tried it in 2003 when I first got here. When I first got here, I was having problems with my acne. My face was so dry and it itched. I went to see a dermatologist for it and what she gave me didn’t work. I was losing hope until I found a commercial about proactiv. It was very promising and very inspiring that I wanted to try it. Ryan bought me a month supply. Unfortunately, my face started breaking out even more. I wasn’t sure if it was part of the side effects, and I got really scared. It was supposed to be the cleansing process where it let your acne come out and then clear your face out completely. I would love to try proactive again.

HgH
Every once in a while I find Papa watching those wrestling shows, and I have always wondered how they managed to grow those big muscles. They must be using hgh for enhancement. Well, as long as they are safe then there shouldn’t be any problem. I can’t imagine seeing my husband with those big muscles. Although, it would be awesome I am sure. I wonder if that also works for women. I guess I need to do some research about it.

Vacation
I never paid attention to any of my vacations. I had already decided to use them when we go home to the Philippines. Unfortunately, I got the shock of my life when I was told I needed to use my vacations of 20 hours before it goes out the door by February 1. I guess they don't carry over. I put in my vacation for three days to use the 20 hours. We can't use a half a day so we have to take the whole day which was absolutely fine with me.
Ryan asked me if how many hours I had for the personal days. I didn't know that I had some. Ryan read it somewhere in my benefits books. I asked my HR, and they were giving me different answers, so I decided to call the benefits hotline. The lady said that, part-time has 16 hours and full time has 24 hours. I immediately informed our HR assistant so she can take care of the 44 hours total that I have. It is all set so I will be off on the week of the 24th for a week. She has to use my 4 hours next week though because I will be over on the week of the 24th. Regardless, I am just glad to have a little off after the holiday.

Weight
I went to a retail store today after work to pick up something, and I was amazed of their displays that greeted me the moment I walked in the door. It was all about losing weight such us things to use in a gym, water bottles, and cereals among other things. Even the displays right across my department at work, it is all about losing weight. Most New Year’s resolutions are all about trying to lose weight, and I wonder how many people actually have that in their list. I had that too few years ago, but I learned not to put so much pressure on myself especially when I realized that I could find diet pill comparison online. It would be so awesome not to change your life just because you are trying to lose weight. Taking a diet pill might just work.

Night Cream
When I was in the Philippines, I was so used to of putting night cream before going to bed. Unfortunately that had changed when I got here in the US. Back home it was extremely hot, humid, and dusty that I didn’t have any choice but to really take care of my skin. Here, on the other hand, is not that bad that I am just contended of washing my face before going to bed; however, I may have to start taking care of my skin again and look for the best night cream. I am getting older and older and it shows in my skin, so I better start taking care of it again.

Balikbayan Boxes Picked Up
Thursday, January 14, 2010
It was such a relief that the balikbayan boxes had now been picked up. Papa wanted to send one of them last Christmas, but I wanted to just send them all together. The one package had the clothes that Noelle and Maureen gave to my sisters while the other package was some pasalubongs and a few of Frankie's clothes and diapers. We still have so much shopping to go but we still have the time. I need to concentrate on my classes and work, and I will try to get excited later when March is here. I need to double check with my Uncle if they are going to Cebu too from Australia. That would really be awesome.

Habitat
Sunday, January 10, 2010
I really miss the province where my grandma used to live. I used to climb up and down the mountains with my sisters and cousins during school breaks. I loved how I felt so close to nature over there. I used to see different kinds of animals, but most of all, I missed swimming in the river. It was the most wonderful feeling growing up. That is why I am so pleased when I read an article about Mr. richard willich who will be removing slash pines to create a habitat for native birds. That is such an awesome project. I am sure a lot of birds and people will be very pleased. It is very seldom that you hear people who want to do something about their environment and thanks to Mr. Willich for taking the initiative.

Outfit
I can’t believe our holiday party is fast approaching, and I still don’t have anything to wear. I shouldn’t have any problem because I work in a retail store but there are a lot of clothes to choose from. Last year, I went in with a pair of jeans and a nice top. I am thinking of going in with jeans again but not just your regular pair of jeans, but something like the Joe's jeans. They might be just jeans, but they are designer jeans.
I don’t know what Ryan will be wearing for the party but we agreed that we will have the same color top. He will probably be wearing a polo shirt because that is what he likes wearing and a pair of jeans. That is why I want to go in jeans too. I don’t want to dress too much while Ryan is just wearing his regular jeans. I am sure our presence is important not what we wear.

Holiday Party
Kohl's had been so generous in sharing to us their blessings. That is besides the occasional 30% off we get as discounts for working there. I had worked with retail before, and we were lucky to get a $5.00 gift card as supervisors for Christmas. When I first worked at Kohl's, we had our mini get together for the ad set team. I didn't know that the store will be having a holiday party away from the store. Some stores usually have a potluck in their stock room or in the breakroom while the store is still under operation.
Last year, we did it in the Crete park district. It was really nice, but it lacked games and things to do. I hope this year will be different. Our manager promised that we are going to be doing different things every 15 minutes. It should be fun. We already know everybody, and we were just there talking and eating until it was time for us to go. Well, besides the little raffle we had. There will be nominations for people this week too, and they will get their certificates on the party. I am actually very excited. Dada will be coming with me. I would love to take Frankie and Pops, but Papa suggested that it would be a good idea if they stay home because Frankie might be all over the place like last year. I guess this will be my little date with my Dada.

Vacation
Wednesday, January 6, 2010
A lady from work told me that it is going to snow tonight. Since the winter started, I had stopped watching the weather forecast. I had the tendency to get really scared when it is about to snow, and I kept thinking about it. I am ok if I don't have to leave the house. I hate driving with snow. For the past days, we have been having negative degrees at our end, and that is on top of the snow that we already have on the ground. I really don’t mind if it is not windy, but what can I expect living close to Chicago? It is the time of the year when I wish that I am somewhere warm relaxing and enjoying the weather. Some place increase their prices because they knew people would escape the cold weather and be somewhere warm, but I am sure that Outer Banks rentals will be affordable all year round. I am so looking forward to a warm and nice weather. I can't wait for March.

Elderly
Tuesday, January 5, 2010
I care so much for the elderly but not as much as taking a job to take care of them. That is why I adored Jenny for what she does in going to the hospital, in the emergency room to be exact, and going on home care or home health. I respect them greatly, but I think my calling is with the little ones.
I was out with Frankie and Papa today, and we all went to Wal-Mart. We were on our way out when I happened to follow an elderly lady on a wheelchair and another younger lady that seems to be her care taker. She seems so distant from the older lady, and she doesn’t help her out in getting the things that she needed from the shelves. I thought it was odd. After the older lady paid for her stuff, the younger lady murmured something and walked away. The elderly lady did not hear her but thankfully the cashier did. She just sat there not knowing what to do until the cashier informed her.
The elderly needs a lot of help they could get. Some of them have disabilities that having someone would be of great help. Good thing there is social security disability to help them get by with their needs financially. That is why I could never work with elder people because I get too attached to them, but when I see one at work, I always give them the best customer service.

Moved
I got an email from my little sister telling me that their graduation is going to be moved. Thankfully, it will be later rather than earlier. Ging-ging's graduation was supposed to be on the 27th of March. We are going to arrive on the 26th at 11:00 p.m. So, we will have very little time to adjust (jet lag and all). The 30th actually gives us little time to adjust with the time difference and for Frankie to get settled and for Papa to do the things that needs to be done before the Holy Week. I can't wait for the prosession in the church nearby, eat benignet, and eat some of the food that I am longing to eat and most of all I wish that my aunt and uncle from Australia will come join us in Cebu. It would really be awesome.

Ryan's Job
Ryan seems to be doing well with his new job. Unfortunately, he is not hired in yet because they have to wait for his 90 days, so he is still hanging in there. Even if I know how hard working Ryan is because I have worked with him before, but one can never be sure. He is taking it one day at a time and hoping that things will be ok.
A lot of people asked me what Ryan does and I always tell them that he has a job. I sort of know what he does, but I don’t want to give them the wrong information. I know he tests and does a lot of things. All I know is, he is dealing with very small parts, and he needs to have steady hands for that. He sometimes mentions about fiber optics, tornado sirens, and police sirens. He probably dealt with rfi shielding too. Whatever he does, as long as it is honest and clean it doesn’t matter to me.

Rearranging For The New Year
I decided not to have any New Years resolution this year. When you start the year with expectations like that, chances are, you are bound to fail when it doesn’t happen. The most common New Year’s resolution is losing weight. I don’t even want to pressure myself like that. I try to eat healthy, but it is not the end of the word if I don’t lose the weight. Another thing that everyone should do at the start of the New Year is rearrage. You know, move things around and make everything look different and new even if you had everything for the longest time. I would love to rearrange our office furniture and make them look new even if they are handed downs. Some of them, we bought as clearance too. So a little cleaning here and there will probably do the trick.

Mini Vacation...
... is over and I am back to reality. I had three days off, and I worked yesterday, and I am off again today but after this will be six days straight. I did quiet a few things around the house but most of the time was spent going out getting stuff for the house. I also spent most of the time with Dada while he was home. I am also glad that I will be back to work because I need to take care of my department. It is a mess over there after the holidays. There are a lot of new shoes coming in and with the moves and getting my T-walls back it was a mess. I was able to take care half of it when I was there yesterday. I left a note to Caril who will be there today, so she knows exactly what I did and where to continue. I can't wait to take care of that mess tomorrow, so my department will look the way it looked. I need to get this going because I only have two more weeks, and the pressure will begin.
