    Green Shopping

    Thursday, December 31, 2009

Working retail could be very draining especially during the holiday season. I am just glad that this year was a lot better because of the different clientèle that I dealt with. If I were to choose, I would love to stay home and take advantage of the internet. By green shopping, shoppers could save money from gas. They also can save time because they don’t have to drive to the retail stores and in return make earth a better place to live because of less carbon dioxide that the car emits. Imagine if we all have to do that. I might probably lose my job, but I am sure I will find something to do.

    First Time Grandma

I spent my 31st birthday at work. It was the day after Thanksgiving which was of course Black Friday. I really wanted to give my hours away, but they scheduled me early, so I can get off early. Among all the people that greeted me, it was Jackie who was so excited about something. I didn’t know that my birthday was also the day her first grand daughter was born. She was so happy beyond compare. She even suggested of making the baby announcements for her son and daughter-in-law to picked because she knows that they won’t have any time to send them out. She was beaming with joy being a grandma for the first time, and I am sure I will probably feel the same way when my time will come.

    Errands

    Tuesday, December 29, 2009

I am glad that it is not that bad outside anymore. It had been snowing and gloomy since last week, and it is nice to see the sun out for a change. We have so many places to go to today. I promised Papa that we will celebrate his first year anniversary here in the US today. It was supposed to be last 27th but I had to work and I didn't get off until 8:30 p.m. I wanted to take him out and Frankie last Saturday because I got off early, but it was just so bad outside.

I wanted to go to school today to check the different classrooms that I will be in for the next semester and inquire about selling my books back, but they are close. I don't know what was I thinking. It never occured to me that they are close for two weeks. I really wanted Papa to see the school I go to, but I may have to take them next year. We also need to go to Borders to pick up my reviewer, Target to print the pictures for my aunt and uncle in Australia and some for the Philippines. Drop off Papa in Menards, so he can get something there and use his giftcard. Take him out for lunch or dinner, depending on what time of the day it is and lastly, take him to Kohl's so he can get something, and I can return something.

Frankie and Papa are both watching a Filipino DVD outside while I am organizing all my research papers and all my essays in one place so that they all would be easier to locate if I will need them in the future. I have three classes, so I need to get three different folders for each of them. I am so glad they are over.

    Equipments

It is so nice to have your own fitness equipment at home. It is so convenient when you don’t have to leave the house to work-out. We only have a treadmill in the house. I wish we have more, so I have a variety of equipments to use. Unfortunately, our house is not that big, so we kept it in the utility room. One of my friends had mentioned about going to the gym; I agreed in the beginning, but I realized that I really don’t have much time between school, work, and taking care of Frankie. I would love to have just any fitness equipment at home.

    Eating and Holidays

    Friday, December 25, 2009

Papa decided to stay at home yesterday because he was busy cooking the chicken that we were going to bring to Jenny’s house. You see, we all agreed that we will be spending Christmas Eve at Jenny’s house, but my father-in-law called a few days Christmas Eve to have a little get together at his house. I didn’t want to miss it either so I told Jenny that we will be at their house by 9:00 p.m. We had a nice dinner over at my in laws, and I had so much food at my friend’s house. After eating I felt like someone beat me up. I felt so tired, and I was so ready to retire.

I had been eating since Thanksgiving started and hopefully by the New Year it won’t be that bad. I won’t promise anything for the next year though especially about dieting because I saw it fail before so many times. Fastin diet pill might just help together with my daily walks.

    One Year

I can't believe that this Sunday, it will be Papa's first anniversary here in the US. I remember the feeling just like yesterday. I was more excited about his arrival than celebrating Christmas. I wanted to hug him so tight again and feel his warm embrace. I just wanted to see him safe and here with us. I remember I had my first call off from work that day too. I was supposed to work that night, but I was honest with them and told them that there was no way that I would work since I would want to make my father comfortable at home. They were very understand and thankfully someone took my hours and worked for me. Unfortunately, I work this weekend. So, Ryan mentioned about taking him out for dinner. It might not be on that date but probably tomorrow on the 26th. Have lunch or dinner and take him shopping. It's been one year, and I will always be thankful that he came joined us. We love you so much Papa.

    KettleWorX WorX For Me

    Monday, December 7, 2009

Over a month ago, I got the KettleWorX in the mail for free to try and to test. I have been waiting for it, and when it finally came I was bugged with flu. I waited for over two weeks to finally try it and see what it does for me. I heard a lot of good things about KettleWorX most especially how the Kettlebell makes working out a lot of fun. Aside from the kettlebell, I also got the KettleWorx DVDs for complete body workout that combined the three elements: cardio, core and resistance.

To be honest with you, I have used different kinds of DVDs just to get rid of my excess fat or to tone my muscles before. I had spent a lot of money on hip hop abs DVDs that I thought was worthless, pilates and yoga DVDs, and I even got myself a work-out ball but none gave me so much interest unlike the KettleWorx. You see, I am not a heavy person, but when I gave birth to my son, I haven’t been back to my pre-pregnancy weight. I was stuck with 145 lbs from 130 lbs. It seems like the rest of my body had shrunk to its pre-pregnancy size but my mid section has not. I want to fit in my jeans again and besides with the busy lifestyle I lead, I need the strength to survive.

When I first started KettleWorx, I didn’t think I can last twenty minutes. I was catching my breath even during warm up. The positions were very easy to look at, but I was having a hard time when I was doing them, but I was determined to do it. They targeted different parts of the body that is what I liked about them. I kept telling myself that it would get better in time. I finished the warm-up but I was not able to get half way the six-week body transformation – cardio, core, and resistance. The next day, I was very sore, but I was excited because it means the workout was working. I waited for another two days for my body to recuperate.

The next succeeding days was a lot better, and I was getting better and better every time. I was holding on longer and longer than when I first started. My body did not sore as much anymore, and I was starting to feel a lot lighter. I even feel like I have so much energy. I used to feel so tired around 9:00 p.m. while sitting in class, but since I started doing KettleWorx that changed. Getting up was a lot better too. It used to be a drag getting to work and going to school three times a week. Although I only lost a few pounds but I couldn't complain because I am getting muscles. When I am ready before we leave for the Philippines, I will post a picture of myself. I can't wait to be able to wear something nice this time, on the beach, on our vacation. By the way, on the left is my Kettlebell, my baby.

So if you don't have time like me to hit the gym, then why not try KettleWorx. You will surely enjoy it as much as I do. For a short period of time, just a few hours each week, you will be able to see results . Plus, you will also get diet guide and meal suggestions to help you on your way of being healthy. It worked great for me, it might work for you too.

    Black Friday

    Tuesday, December 1, 2009

I was expecting Black Friday to be a mad rush this year than the rest of the year, but it didn't. I forgot that the economy is not doing good this year. I was in my department the entire time, and I don't even feel that we were busy. It was a little busier during back to school in shoes than last Black Friday. I am just glad that after a few bugging from them, I was sent home early. There were a lot of food though, and they really fed us well. Also, they were so thoughtful because they came into my department with candles and started singing "happy birthday". I didn't like to work that day, but I work retail so what am I going to do. My friends and family made it really special though so I couldn't complain.
