    Amazon Books

    Sunday, March 29, 2009

Before we had Frankie and after I get off work, I used to go to different bookstores to read and browse different books that I can buy or take home to read. I tried to do that once a week. It was my way of unwinding after a long busy week. When I had Frankie, it was getting difficult to find time for myself. So I find myself browsing online checking on different Amazon books and getting my books through them. I like how I can get it at a discounted price without leaving home. Now I can still do what I like doing that is “reading” and at the same time being able to be home with my son.

    Worried

    Saturday, March 28, 2009

When Papa learned that it is going to snow today (Saturday) he was frantic. Trust me he wasn't worried of his daughter driving with snow tonight if it happens to start falling later in the afternoon. He is not worried about having to clean the driveway later but you know what makes him so worried? It is the corn that he just planted. He is so worried that they will die because of the snow. I told my co-workers last night and they were all laughing. Ryan said that if they die, we can always get him another pack of corn. It was so cold today but he went outside to see if they are all growing. He told me that the packet said 5-7 days from planting for it to grow so he wants to make sure they are not out yet this morning. It hasn't snowed yet and I hope it won't be that much. I am so sick of this winter. After all it is already spring.

    Theater Seats

    Tuesday, March 24, 2009

My Aunt whose husband is finally retiring is looking into making one of their spare rooms into a movie room. They met in Dubai where they both worked as an engineer and have been looking forward to this retirement. They want to stay permanently in their house in Louisiana. She has been going to stores after stores to check out different theaters seats but with no luck. Thankfully she called me last night and I was able to tell her about the Berkline theater seats that some are currently on sale at the Theaterseatstore.com. Plus shipping is free so she doesn’t have to worry about paying costly shipping. I can’t wait to visit her soon and check out their updated house. I haven’t seen her since I was in high school and I know she will be so surprised to see me again.

    The Long Wait Is Over

    Sunday, March 22, 2009

Finally our other nephew is out and we are anxiously waiting for the pictures. Cheryl is supposed to be due the first week of March but the baby wasn't ready to come out yet. My sister in law decided to take off from her night shift at the school but still working during the day. Every morning they wake up so early and go for a walk with my brother. They also visit her doctor every week now to see how the baby is doing. Every thing is doing great and finally yesterday March 21 at around 2:00 p.m. another bundle of joy has been added to our family. I hope Ging-ging will be able to get some photos of the new baby so that I can post it here. He has a very unique name and I think it iscute. I hope my brother really went for it. I can't wait when they are home so that we can see the baby through skype. We are so excited here.

I Like Staying In A Hotel

I enjoy going places and of course being able to rest in a hotel after a long day out. Ryan and I are so picky with the hotels we stay. We tend to book the ones that we have used before and so pleased with everything and try to avoid the ones that we didn’t. One of the things I really like while staying in a hotel is being able to take a swim with my family. It is always something I look forward to. Sometimes it is best that you know the hotels that are around the place that you are traveling especially when you are taking the plane. You’ll never know what will happen with your flight. It wouldn’t be a problem if you are stuck in San Diego because you can always find a San Diego airport hotel. So, always remember to know the different hotels every time you are traveling.

    Postponed

    Saturday, March 21, 2009

I have been planning to go to Vanis to retrieve my gift card for a haircut but every time I schedule it on Saturday, Ryan also works over time. I wanted to go by myself because we have one in Indiana but he wants to go with me. It seems like it is every Saturday that he is working OT now. It is good but sometimes it sucks because we can't make any plans anymore especially when he has to be there until 2:00 p.m. Luckily, I was not able to call them yet to make an appointment so I don't have to go through canceling them. Hopefully we can go soon because my hair is getting so long and I also deserve a little pampering.

    Kettlebell Workouts

    Wednesday, March 18, 2009

Losing weight is such a challenge and I wish I don’t have to deal with it. I have work-out DVDs here at home and I use them occasionally but I find it boring especially when you are doing it alone. I have told Ryan so many times that I wish we don’t have so much obligation that we can work out together during the night. He loves the idea too as he used to work out when he was younger. Well I thought of another idea when I came across the Kettlebell workouts. We can get it and we can make time to work-out together when we are both home from work. It might not always be every night because I work a few nights a week. We can do it in the living room while Papa watches TV in his room and Frankie can even join us. Hum...this sounds like a plan.

    Beautiful Tuesday

    Tuesday, March 17, 2009

It is so beautiful outside that I would hate to leave for work later tonight but it would be silly of course to call off because it is beautiful outside. :) I really hope that this would be it for us but I know it will get a little cold again tomorrow. I am so tired of wearing and carrying a coat/jacket. We left the house without any coat on yesterday and it was it was nice. I am just waiting for Frankie to get up then we can go outside. Ryan should be home anytime soon to meet up with Dad. Papa is taking a little break because since 7:00 a.m. this morning he has been out. So after lunch I asked him to rest and now he is inside the house watching something. I need to get going and take Frankie outside. He just got up.

    Job Search

    Friday, March 13, 2009

From the time I started looking for a job, I have already 3 other job offers and I don’t have any choice but to turn them down because of the location of the job. They are either too far or not so safe. I have decided to slow down with the search since we are going somewhere in the first week of April and I didn’t want to deal with having to take off and I just started working if ever I find a job. I have a managerial experience before and it is regarding administrative careers that is what I am so interested about. Hopefully I will be able to find something because I really would hate driving all over place with a merchandising job.

    Messy

I have posted this in my blog before and I saw this again earlier. I showed it to Papa and he was laughing so hard because Frankie looked so little, messy and goofy. I think I just placed him in the tub and undress him there. He was so dirty that the tub turned orange. Yikes... since then I haven't given him that because it is such a pain to clean up. I can't believe that he will be 2 soon. Our messy little baby. Janet from work gave him some toys from her house. It is still unopened. I can't wait to give it to Frankie tomorrow morning. I also handed to them his birthday invitation and some already confirmed while others undecided but they will get back to me as soon as possible.

    Homepage To LeapFish

    Thursday, March 12, 2009

I don’t have Wii Fit at home and this is my chance to get it without spending a buck. I know how expensive it is that is why I didn’t buy it before and didn’t feel the need to have it but if I can get it for free, then why not. All I have to do is to set my homepage to LeapFish and I can be entered for a chance to win Wii and Wii Fit for the March 23,2009 drawing. Besides, I have nothing to lose for making LeapFish as my homepage because I like how organize it look. I also have the option to choose Google, Yahoo or MSN in my search. As you type, the results start showing until you are done typing with that you are looking for. I have to say the result is very thorough and even complete with pictures. So what are you waiting for? Start setting your homepage to LeapFish to win and to enjoy searching comprehensively.

    Calling Uncle Don

When I was driving on my way home, I thought of calling Uncle Don. I promised myself that I will try to get in touch with him at least once a month since he is alone most of the time and he needs someone to talk to. He always seem so happy every time I call and he always tell me that I made his day. Sometimes it hurts me listening to his frustrations which some of them he is hiding from his children because he doesn't want them to be sad for him. Papa and Manoy Gayfred also said the same thing that at least he has someone to vent all his frustrations too. At his age, he still takes care of his mother that is over 100 years old and another Uncle. Bless his generous heart as he has always been so supportive of us. I have put together pictures of Frankie and Papa that I will be mailing it to him soon. I am sure he will love all of them. He hasn't meet Papa in person yet because when he visited Cebu, Papa was then assigned in Davao to work. I better end this now and call him in a little bit.

    Affordable Designer Costume Jewelry

    Wednesday, March 11, 2009

I was introduced to Holstedjewelers.com when I search online to help my brother looked for a promise ring that he can give his girlfriend that was then leaving for Switzerland. I have checked the different retail stores but I am not so pleased with the quality for the price. What I liked so much about them is the different selection of designer costume jewelry at a very affordable price. In fact, I was checking out different jewelries that they have which is just between my price range and I was blown away with how beautiful they all are. They will surely be my destination for mother’s day to buy my mom and mother in law a gift. This is the ring (on the left) that I was keeping an eye on for my brother. Isn't it gorgeous?

    Mama

I don't know if it is beautiful outside but it looks like. Frankie just got up a few minutes ago and he was crying. Papa told him that they are going outside in any minute to look at the squirrels. He carried him and now they are singing Papa's VCD. I don't think Frankie can live without his Tatay anymore hehehe. Sometimes if he doesn't see him, he looks for him so cutely. He can pronounce Tatay now and it is like a music to my ears. There are times when he can't find his Dada and Tatay he calls them Da-tay. He unendingly calls me mama too. So lovely to hear but it get use every minute so it is getting old. At any rate, one of the most wonderful feeling when you get to be called mama by your child.

    Culminating Activity

Ging-ging was so excited for their culminating activity at the psychiatric ward. Their professor gave them the option for the finals. It was either exempted or written exam depending on how they are going to do the presentation. Ging-ging was tasked to sing a Doxo as well as to love you more and tell him. She had all the props made and every Sunday the one and only day they can rest were spent practicing. The day before the presentation she kept emailing me and told me how anxious she was. That night they went to a classmate's house to record her singing that she was going to upload for me. They made sure that everything was set for the next day. During the culminating activity, she couldn't help but feel so disappointed. There were no coordination among the one who were operating the sound system. What was even worst is they couldn't find the tape when she was getting ready to sing. Luckily they recorded one the night before and that was the one they used. She didn't like it because that was the first time that she was lip-synching. After all the hard work, they still need to take the written exam. Yep, they missed the chance of being exempted. I told her to better luck next time. She will be an emcee for another activity in school tomorrow. This extra-curricular activities are definitely adding too much pressure.

    Getting Married Soon?

When I was young, I told myself that when I will get married, I want it to be very special. I don’t want to have any bride’s maid because I want all attention on me, the bride. Although being married with the one I love was like a dream come true but it wasn’t as special as I thought it would be. I was not able to celebrate it with my family. It was nice that my husband’s family and friends were there but it could have been complete and perfect if my family was there too. So if you are going to be exchanging I dos soon and wants to do something extraordinary or unique then you should check out Karismahotels.com for the wedding packages. However if you have decided to do the wedding with your family then you could also take advantage of their fabulous honeymoon packages. Whatever you decide Karismahotels.com has the perfect destination weddings for both of you and of course for the entire family as well.

    Haven't Heard From Them

One disadvantage of using a pre-paid phone is I can't call Grandma Neis and Noelle anytime because we have to watch the minutes. When I had the old phone, Ryan and I had so many minutes that is why even if Ryan and I are out I can easily call Noelle to her house or Grandma to check on Grandpa. Now it seems like ages that I haven't heard from them. Grandma hasn't been calling me either and I absolutely understand because she is so busy with Grandpa. Noelle and I email each other and it has been a while too. I asked Dad how she is and I know she is doing great, spending most of her time with Grandma Horner. Although there is one service in the internet where I can call for free anywhere in the United States but the down side is, the voice quality is very bad. I have tried it at home and Ryan can't barely hear me but I can hear him well. Hopefully, I will be able to call them for just a little bit. Grandma is so good at asking me if I am using the pre-paid phone though and she calls me back in the home phone. I have to thank them for the beautiful Valentines card that they sent Frankie. I so miss talking with them about things.

    My Eyes Need Help

Last week I went to bed at a descent time except last Tuesday because that was the only day that I worked. The rest of the week I was busy doing a lot of things which of course one of them is writing. Today however was the first day that we got back to work and I am not used to of working late anymore. That almost a week of being out really changed my body clock. Around 11:00 p.m. I can already feel that I am getting tired. This working late and sometimes getting up early in the morning is showing around my eyes. Yes, my eye bags are so puffy and when I look at myself in the mirror I can see dark circles around it. It might be the time that I need the aid of an eye cream to help get rid of the dark spots and the puffiness. Although I love my job and the people I worked with but this working evening sometimes is too much.

    Why?

I just got back from work about 5 minutes ago. I told Papa not to shut down my computer so I don't have to start it again when I get home. When I opened it there was a message from my best friend and co-teacher before. After reading it, I felt his pain and I feel like exploding right now that is why I had to write. I have no one to talk to here so even if it is 2:00 a.m.,I got to write this. The message was, he's father was driving a taxi, someone stopped him and asked him to take them somewhere when they got to the destination he was robbed and was killed (shot) afterwards. He was hoping I can help him monetary (I know how poor they are) and I wanted to help so bad but I am still paying for Resty's remaining balance from the hospital and Papa and I just sent money for Ging-ging's final exam.

Why do they have to kill him when he gave what he got? I did talk to mama and she heard it from the news this morning but she wasn't expecting that he was his father. He's father was also a lay minister in their local church. I hope I can come up with something to help even with how little. I told him to keep me posted. May he rest in peace.

    To New York City

    Tuesday, March 10, 2009

My co-worker Trina always takes her family to vacation every summer and this year she is so excited because they will finally be visiting the Big Apple. This will be all their first time and like her I am so excited for all of them. I will surely be waiting for the pictures. Since she is not too familiar with the city I suggested to her to make sure to check out Citysightsny.com. They are the expert when it comes to places to visit in New York City. In fact, I encouraged her to go check them out as soon as possible because she can get deals and discounts by booking online. They have a list of things to do while in New York such as hopping in a New York Sightseeing tours, cruises, Broadway shows and a lot more.

They can also take advantage of the night tour of the city showing off what it has to offer. It is visiting the historic neighborhood is what I would love to do when our time comes to visit. I so envy her right now because New York City is one of the cities I would love to see. So, if New York City is also your destination this summer then don’t forget to check the Citysightsny.com.

    Appointments

    Monday, March 9, 2009

Ryan has been pushing to me make an appointment for Frankie. He will be two years next month and the doctor had to see him. I can't do it that weekend because we are going to be out of state. I can also schedule it before his birthday but Ryan is working and I want him to be there with us. So as of now I haven't decided when to go that we both can go. Probably after his birthday party, we'll see.

Anyways, I have been so busy looking for a new gynecologist and an OB at the same time because it is that time of the year again. I have found a handful of board certified female doctors to the location that Ryan and I wanted so I will be giving them a call this week. This month is when I have to see the dermatologist again. I can't believed it has been 6 months since the last time I saw her. I don't know if I still want to go but we'll see. I used to worry every time I have appointments because of Frankie but now I can just go anytime I want. The last time, Frankie's Tita Sheila came with us and she watched Frankie when I was called in. I ended up coming out to get Frankie because the doctor knew that he was with me and she wants to see him. I really like this doctor and I hope I will feel the same way with the gynecologist that I will be seeing.

    Medical Assistant Training School Online

    Sunday, March 8, 2009

Being in the medical field is one of the smartest moves one can ever have these days. That is why when my sister decided to become a nurse; I have nothing but support for her. I know a lot of people who wants to pursue a career as a medical assistant but with their existing job, it is hard to be in a school physically. Well with the technology moving forward and the internet, you can now go to a medical assistant training school online at your convenience. You could be at home or anywhere as long as you have internet with you. I would love to work for something related to the medical field but I am one of those who faint at the sight of blood. I think I may have to keep doing what I am doing right now but it surely is nice to know that there is another alternative to go as a medical assistant.

    So Ready to Retire

    Saturday, March 7, 2009

I didn't join the boys from watching movies tonight. I needed to finish the invitation as well as write something. Thankfully I am done with the invitation now just need to figure out how to print it because I just uploaded it somewhere and copied it from there. Papa and Ryan approved of it so this should be it. I have so much to do. I was hoping to write one more tonight but I am tired. We have to wake up early so that we can all come to Ryan and check out something. Hopefully we will find something that we liked. We will also be stopping by the mall for a little bit and have lunch there.

It was raining like crazy here today and of course we couldn't find the umbrellas. You usually can't find them when you are looking for them. Ryan stayed with Frankie at home while Papa and I went to church. It was a lovely sermon. When we got home we switched and Ryan came with me this time to pick up a watch. I am so ready to sleep so I better wrap this up. Have a good night everyone.

    Tshirt Dress

I have been telling myself that I need to mail these big packages we have here for the Philippines. Yes, they are still in our hallway and they are quiet annoying. It is actually so full filled with clothes that don’t fit me anymore. After I gave birth to Frankie I went through all of them and decided to give it to my sisters. At least they can use it there than just stay in our closet collecting dust.

I haven’t been shopping clothes that much lately. I just don’t feel the need although we are required to wear business attire to work. I sometimes dread going to work because it means I have to mix and match my clothes just to look presentable and I am not good at that. I want something simple yet elegant and I am glad I found this James Perse Tshirt Dress below.

What I like about it is it looks so comfy and with the kind of work I do, I want to be able to move freely and comfortably. The design is also very simply and not flashy. They have a lot of James Perse clothes to choose from and they all look so cute. I better start browsing to find something that I might like.

    Chatting With Dada

I so love this new feature that yahoo has. You can now chat while in you are in your yahoo inbox and that is what Ryan and I have been doing while having his breaks and lunch. It is so convenient especially when there are things that I want to tell him and vice versa. Since we have changed our phones to pre-prepaid, we haven't been talking during lunch. He surfs the internet for his sideline biz too while on lunch. The moment he checks his email, he will show online in my yahoo messenger and that is when we start chatting. It is so convenient and economical. I feel like he is just in the house because sometimes when we are both home, we chat (even if he is just in the second bedroom) telling each other "I Love You". Anyways, go to go and get ready for church.

    To The Rescue

Looking for a house was a lot of fun. I think it took us almost 4 months to finally find that house that we liked. We started looking around December and we closed that April the following year. It was so exciting because there were a lot of houses to choose from. Ryan and I didn’t rush to buying one right away because we wanted the house that we are going to get to be mechanically sound especially that Ryan is not that handy around the house. The closing day was another exciting yet scary part. You just don’t know if the loan will go through or you will come home empty handed. Once we got through the closing, it was like a big weight was lifted off our shoulder. We didn’t realize that moving will be such a challenge most especially when we did it all by ourselves and we didn’t hire any Moving Company.

After the move we had, I didn’t want to move again if I can help it. It was such a hassle and very stressful. It wasn’t that bad yet because we didn’t have Frankie then but I can’t imagine moving with kids. We will definitely hire a Moving Company next time, no buts no ifs. If we want to keep our sanity during this taxing part then hiring one is a must.

    Finally Cut

    Friday, March 6, 2009

Last Tuesday is when I finally said, I need to have Papa's haircut done and my eyebrows done as well. It has been so bushy and it looked awful. Papa on the other hand refused to have it cut because it keeps him warm but since I need to have their picture taken for the invitation which by the way is in my to-do-list but didn't do it yet, I told him we need to go. So we did. Frankie as usual is being himself. He has really opened up a lot lately, maybe with the stage and was so nice and friendly to everybody. When we first got there, there were 4 people already waiting ahead of us. The two were then called and we sat down to wait for our turn. Frankie got up and got one of the magazines that was placed on the side table. He sat down right next to me and started reading. Everyone in the waiting area was laughing. He opened the magazine alright but he was saying - a-i-b-d 0 and babbles a little bit. I asked him,"are you reading?" and he said, "aha".

When it was Papa's turn he wanted to go with him. I grabbed him and we watched his taytay had his haircut on the other side. He wanted to be put down so I let him down. He climb up to one of the chairs and started pointing at one of the models there and said, "dada". Papa and the other lady were laughing. The guy was cute but he doesn't look anything like his dada. He had black hair but he kept pointing at it calling him dada. When Papa was done I bought him a hair spray and we head to the mall. They both went to the play area to wait for me. When I got there, there were only two babies running around. The other kid seems to be so fond of Frankie because he kept following him around and they we so nice to each other. We had to leave immediately unfortunately because we still need to go Menards again and I had to work that night. I am just glad that Papa finally got his hair cut and I have my eyebrows done.

Investing With The Help of Monex

Investing is what I really want to do. Ryan is pretty smart when it comes to this. We have invested a little portion of our money somewhere. Even when we used to work retail, he had also invested a little to the company. What I like about investing is, it is something you put aside and silently growing its value to your benefit but you just need to be really careful with what to invest your money with. Money is so hard to find these days so it is best that you will be smart with it as well. If you are in dilemma and don’t know where to start then this is where Monex comes in. Don’t you know that Monex will help you purchase silver; gold and other precious metals and can even arrange a depository or bank for storage for you? Well, it also depends on what you want to do too. You can keep it or store it somewhere safe. So if investing is what you want to do then check out Monex; who has been doing it for over 30 years.

I Should Be Sad but I Am Happy

    Tuesday, March 3, 2009

Ok this is regarding my schedule at work. When I looked at my schedule last week for this week, I was so happy because I only have one day this week. I know, I should be sad but I have been working 4 times a week every week and it is nice to have a little break. I already wrote a to-do list that hopefully I can do this week. As with the job hunt, I slowed down a little bit since Ryan and I just agreed that we are going out of town for our 6th wedding anniversary for three days (Papa and Frankie coming... yay!). I don't want to have a hard time excusing myself for that. Plus with Frankie and Papa's birthday coming up so it is going to be a busy month. I am so looking forward this week and the things that I will hopefully accomplish. I will be back with another 4 the up coming weeks but I am not complaining anymore.

    Business Idea

Have you ever imagined how awesome it would be to have your own business online? You don’t have to wake up early and fight the morning rush to work. You are your own boss and everything you do is from home. You don’t even have to dress up to operate your business. So what are you going to sell? You can sell different things and you can get it from Liquidation.com. They have wholesale auctions on a lot of things that you can think of, from clothing to accessories and even computer and electronics and a lot more. You can bid on different things that you think would be perfect for your online store and since it is wholesale, you will get more than one. Add a little profit to it and you will be on your way of having an online store. I wish I have a capital for a small business because I surely would rather be home with my son and still be able to help my husband.

    Out of Danger

    Monday, March 2, 2009

I was so shocked when I opened my email Sunday morning to read messages from my brother Tonette telling me that Resty is in Cebu Doctors Hospital and under observation and might go under operation if nothing changes. We were out all day Saturday and I worked that night so Papa was not able to answer my brother Gayfred's call. You just can imagine how sad I was when I learned about it. I tried calling the house but nobody was there. My family is in the hospital with Resty and Sunday night, it is when we finally heard from my brother. We talked for a little before him going to work.

What happened was, Resty was suffering from so much pain around her stomach last Friday. It was so painful that she can't even stand up. They took her to a hospital nearby to have her checked and while waiting for the results, my big brother Gayfred kept insisting that they should go to Cebu Doctors in case she needs to be admitted. My brother has 35% off discount there but I still think that hospital is so expensive. My brother wants everything to be ok for her. When mama, my brothers got there (Resty and Aaron went ahead) 2 doctors were already waiting for Resty. She had appendicitis. She was under observation for a little but and around 3:00 a.m. Monday morning she has to be operated. The money that I just sent for Ging-ging's finals is now gone but it's ok. I know I will figure something out. My brother told me that they will take care of Resty's expenses (the rest of it) while I will figure out something for Ging-ging. I was so relieved that her finals won't be as much as I expected to be. At least Papa and I will be chipping in on it (from his little savings intawon) and it should be fine. I hope to hear from Resty soon. She is recovering now and should be going home anytime soon. I am just glad that she is finally out of danger.
