Libya
Papa worked in Libya for 5 years. Once a year is when he can get to visit. Whenever he was home, he used to teach me how to count in Arabic and teach me words too. He also showed me a book of historical spots where he had visited. On the left was the book’s black and white photo while on the right was Papa’s photo in the same exact place as of the book like the picture below. Papa has exactly the same photo of him by the arena.
Ruins of the theatre in the Roman city of Sabratha, west of Tripoli
Libya lies between Egypt to the east, Sudan to the southeast, Chad and Niger to the south, and Algeria and Tunisia to the west. Tripoli is Libya’s capital and the home of 1.7 million with very interesting history. Papa used to tell me about Leptis Magna and when I was looking around to read more about it, the little historian fanatic in me ignite. Check out the ruins of Leptis Magna that is located in Al Khums, Libya.
